I'm working on my A.A. degree and will graduate in te spring semester and will transfer to either USF or FGCU. Once I transfer I will e working towards my B.A. degree in elementary education. I have pretty much always wanted to teach because I have always been told that I work well with kids. I'm really looking forward I working everyone. Also right now I am a little confused on what is going on with the class in canvas and when certain things are due.

Hello Jamie, too funny how we both are taking this course. I remember you from Manatee high school. We both had Mr. Haas for Chemistry. I think it is wonderful you're pursuing a teaching career.

Hi everybody! My name is Lauren Rudisill. I am super excited for this upcoming semester, learning about teaching and observing in a classroom. I hope to be an elementary teacher one day and any chance I get around children is a blast for me. I have been at SCF for two years now and just decided to start pursuing a degree in teaching. After this semester, I will be participating in YWAM. I will be going to New Zealand for missions training and from there I will be spending three more months on the mission field in another country! After I get back, I will be transferring to USF to finish my last two years and get a teaching degree. I look forward to talking with everyone in the class. Good luck to all!

Nice to meet you Kelly!  I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one with a heart for kids, though I think that's why most of us are here.  I'm also not a Florida native, though I've lived here the majority of my life.  I moved to Central Florida (a little town called Port St. John, if anyone's heard of it?) when I was six, then to Northwest Florida when I graduated high school at 18.

I love working with children too.  My favorite part of teaching is the way a kid's face lights up when you teach them something big and exciting, like about oviparous animals, or how to make corn kernels dance in a jar.  I look forward to this journey with you Kelly and wish you the best of luck!

Hello Kelly! Appears that you followed my lead and we did not post our discussions correctly, lol! I believe that a teachers passion should always be focused on caring for others and helping... Definitely right up your alley! I am so glad you have found this career choice to be you passion and I look forward to growing with you this semester!

Hi Melissa,

I wasn't able to comment directly under your discussion, so I am sorry. I am still new to the online learning experience, because this is my first class strictly online. I am only a few minutes from the beach, and was born in Florida. I have dogs as well. Two boxer boys, who are very spoiled. I love your enthusiasm and positivity. Good luck!

Hi Kelly,

I was born and raised in Florida, so we are in opposite boats, considering I am ready to move away! Your affection for people is inspiring. I have a soft spot for kids as well, and it sort of began when my little sister was born. I am ready and excited for the school year to start. Good luck!

Hello Kelly. I too have always had a soft spot for kids. When I had my first child I said I wanted eight. In the end I have three biologically and three more that will soon be my step children and I believe that is enough now. Before having children I wanted to go into nursing but as I stayed home with them and helped out in their schools I realized how enjoyable teaching can be.

What brought you here from Virginia Beach?

Hi there!

My name is Kelly and I am very excited to start my first teaching course. I am originally from Virginia Beach, Virginia but I moved down to Florida two years ago. Once I got settled down here I thought it was time for me to start towards my career. I've always been passionate about helping others and I have a soft spot for kids, so I found that becoming a teacher is right up my alley. I look forward to working with all of you! Enjoy that last bit of your summer. :)
